Wicklow Way in Reverse

An Invitation from Esther

I am intending to walk the ‘Wicklow Way’ in reverse, starting at Clonegal, and going by stages as far as the North Wall ferry terminal. As these various stages will all be linear walks, a car ferry- or bus will be necessary. The bus will only be viable if I get sufficient numbers. People intending to go on the walk will have to let me know a fortnight in advance so that I can book a bus. Anybody booking the bus will have to pay whether he/she goes or not, unless somebody else goes in their place.
The ‘Wicklow Way’ forms part of the E8 path, i.e. one of the European long distance paths. The E8 will eventually extend from the Atlantic in Kerry to Istanbul in Turkey via Ireland, England, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey.
Stage 4 takes place on 7th March, 2009. Further information on current Walks Programme. (See Photo Gallery for glimpses of the earliest stages, walked in spring 2008)
